Ranbir Kapoor, has a pedigree attached to him, and he is one potential superstar in the making. This film is a clean film, which can be watched with family. It depicts some life lessons, you still can run businesses with honesty. Ranbir who plays the the lead role “Harpreet” sets up his own company within the one he works for, roping in a handful of fellow colleagues as partners. Operating honestly and diligently, this team discreetly sets up a thriving business that eventually rivals the one they work for.The story revolves on this and reaches a predictable bollywood climax. Jaideep Sahni, who has scripted films like Khosla Ka Ghosla and Chak De India is in charge of the script and has done a wonderful job. This film is a simple entertainer with out much complications.
Guy Ritchie, better known as Madonna’s husband, has done himself great wonders with this film. Surely, he has the talent to step out of his wife’s shadows. This film is awesome, with some fantastic direction and great performances. Robert Downey JR as always is in his elements.Jude Law gives him great company. The story is gripping and has some amazing twists.Mark Strong as Lord Blackwood does justice to the negative character. The movie is a huge success and the creators have already started working on the sequel. It is rumored that Brad Pitt will play the role of Professor Moriarty.
Surely a must watch movie.
Plot: A newbie guard for an armored truck company is coerced by his veteran coworkers to steal a truck containing $42 million. But a wrinkle in their supposedly foolproof plan divides the group, leading to a potentially deadly resolution. This is one of the heist movies with a terrific cast.
Verdict: Watchable, but nothing spectacular.
It’s wasn’t 3 we were more in numbers, yes that’s the number of idiots i had with me in college. After seeing this movie, it was like a flashback, as i could relate to the fun times we had in college. This is a real feel good film, which could be enjoyed by the masses and classes. The story is simple without any complications. But i felt that the delivery scene on the ping pong table was a bit too much.
All the actors have done an excellent job, they haven’t acted, they are plain natural, Aamir gives a fine performance as always. There is a scene when one of the characters(not the 3 main characters) gives a speech in honor of the Principal, it’s really hilarious. It’s a sure must watch.
AVATAR has smashed through the $US1billion mark for takings in just three weeks.
The science-fiction epic, starring Aussie Sam Worthington, is now the fourth-highest grossing movie of all time and could jump ahead of The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King into second spot within the week.
Last weekend we made a split second decision and headed to cinescape 360 to watch Avatar. We didn’t book it online and we were outside when the thought of going to the cinema came to our minds. When we reached there we found that the tickets were sold out for the 3.30pm show. So we checked the availability for the next show, which was at 6.30pm, the guy at the counter said that show was also full. We were about to go back disappointed, but some one decided to cancel their booking for two tickets and the cancellation was reflected on the screen and we bought it straightaway. We were all the more lucky because the seats where in the top most row, as they say it can’t get better than that.
When we entered we were given the 3D glasses. It’s been a longtime since i had watched a 3D movie and for my wife it was a first experience. I am not a big fan of sci-fi movies, but we lost track of time, when we were watching this movie. The story is predictable, but the pace at which the movie unfolds is timed to perfection. James Cameron, shows his skills as a good story teller. The Computer Graphics is excellent, you really don’t feel that it’s computer generated. The 3d experience is also great. We liked the soundtrack too. Kids might have some scary moments as some of the animals look really scary.
I highly recommend this movie, every one should definitely make it a point to watch it, and if you can shell out 4KD/ head, go experience it in 3D.
Well this poster says it all. “We were Warned”. But we ignored the warnings; went ahead and saw the flick. All the graphics apart, the script is half baked and will keep the viewers bored half-way through. The movie is about the impending destruction of the world in 2012. I for one had high expectations from this film, going by the director’s previous movies(Independence Day, Day After Tomorrow,Godzilla). The storyline falls into the predictable lines soon after the movie gets going.
Woody Harrelson’s character was funny. The rest of the cast also does a reasonably good job, but what goes wrong is the story and maybe too much of the destructive scenes which become repetitive over the time. It will put even a bollywood movie to shame for the fact that the hero and his family survives, not one but many close encounters with the destructive earth and survives till the end . All this happens while the earth around them is falling apart.
Verdict: Watchable, but not exceptional.
Sometime back, I had blogged about the Hindi Film “Blue” here. We saw this flick the other day on DVD. I had read a lot of mixed reviews about it from different sources. We managed to get a good print.
I will start with the highlights of the film. The film is given a new treatment, with stunning camera work and bike stunts. The undersea photography is amazing. Lara Dutta looks ravishing in the song sequence, she doesn’t have much to do with her role. Akshay has tried a new silver goatie.
Now its time for the negatives, the film lacks a strong story line( well most bollywood films fall into this). Sanjay Dutt looks totally out of sync with the happenings. Zayed Khan and Karina are wasted with their roles. The plot becomes very predictable towards the mid-way stage. If you have been watching bollywood movies, you can easily visualize what is the next scene. The songs are just peppered here and there, which doesn’t sync with the story line. And the Kylie Minogue song is not picturised well.
Overall it’s a watchable film.
A few days back happened to see this flick! Thanks to Cinescape, they had worked overtime on the Editing and initially we really struggled to make out the story line.
The director has tried a new approach in story telling. He has put two storylines together, one which happened in the past and one which is going on in the present. The bottomline of the film: “the new generation fails to understand what they really want in life“. They understand what they want after going through major struggles, where as the older generation knew exactly what they wanted and acted accordingly .
Saif Ali Khan plays a double role, he is the young ambitious professional and he plays the younger days of Rishi Kapoor, a sardar who runs a coffee shop. Deepika Padukone puts a decent performance. If you are a big fan of her dimples and her lanky frame, then you are in for a treat. Then there is the usual song and dance routine. One song is shot exceptionally well, it shows a guy’s enthusiasm when he joins his dream job and shows how he starts to get bored with this monotonous routine and slowly he realizes what he is missing in his life. The transition is pictured very well. As i mentioned at the start thanks to cinescape, an entire song was chopped.
Verdict: Watchable Time Pass!! But not at cinescape…
