Kerala Piravi marks the birth of the state of Kerala. The state of Kerala was created on November 1st, 1956. Malayalis from around the world celebrate November 1st as Kerala Piravi, which in Malayalam means the ‘Birth of Kerala’.
2009 marks the 53rd Anniversary of Kerala Piravi. Well back in Kerala, this is one day all gals try to wear the traditional mundu settu and the guys wear the mundu.

Haaah!! I have known Mallus wearing lungi and walking around in Salmiya. On one such expedition a mallu guy was walking across an open ground and it was pretty windy. Right across the ground there was a group of Arab teens, discussing life and girls. They saw our hero and was pretty amused.
One of the teens suddenly turns devilish, darts towards our mallu guy and snatches his mundu and runs away. Moral of the story, from then on all mallus made sure that while wearing mundu or lungi they had enough protection beneath(UWXYZ)! Lol…
LOL! How about wearing a pajama + lungi, that would work 😛
