The month end is closing in and its time my work desk gets the much needed attention. It’s time to clean up the clutter. My desk is running out of space, i have a desktop, a laptop, a couple of external HDD’s, a phone, file folders and a paper rack. Now the paper rack is almost overflowing with the papers. I was neglecting my desk since i was immersed in a development project. The papers are to be sorted out and filed properly and i need to change the arrangement so that i have some extra space on my desk. This is a monthly exercise and the ultimate judge is our office boy who will come and give me a thumbs up sign once I am done. He is the guy who always complaints about my desk.
I am sure the clutter fairy is going to keep a close watch on me and i for sure will not disappoint her.

Since last week the residents of “Jleeb Shoyukh:” has been suffering from the intermittent power cuts. Many have been put under a lot of distress due to this. The summer is at its best and the heat is unbearable even with the AC on, so the plight of the people can be understood when they don’t have power for more than 8-10 hours a day.
It’s time for all the Indian associations in Kuwait to do an introspection, they are not existing just to milk the members for events, they need to take up their problems as well. It’s great to see some of the blogs(q8nri,bloggermathai) taking up the issue and finally coming up with the solution.
Finally the good news, the power outage is over since yesterday evening. As a precaution, switch off everything which is unnecessary, lets conserve energy as much as possible or else many such outages will be witnessed in different parts of Kuwait during the summer.

This is what we had last weekend. Mrs.Bond came up with the recipe, and she was adventurous enough to try it out and it came out really well. We got some fresh pompheret from the Sharq fish market and she marinated the fish with black pepper powder, ginger garlic paste and salt. The fish was put on the grill after 4hours of marination. The grilling time was around 10-20 mins. The grilled fish was garnished with stir fried vegetables , fresh lettuce and cucumber. The final result was awesome. Easy to cook and healthy too.

Dream Cochin

Ancient fantasy meets modern decadence at Dream Cochin, a stylish, sophisticated Cochin India hotel by the Arabian Sea. The inspiration of acclaimed hotelier Vikram Chatwal, this high design gem offers exquisitely appointed accommodation set against emerald green Kumbalam backwaters.
This is one of the hottest happening places in Kochi right now. We had decided to go for the dinner buffet in “Keshai”. So after a long and tired day we reached Dream. It is located on the Sahodaran Ayyapan road, which badly needs a fresh coat of tar. I can very well imagine the current state of the road after the pounding from the monsoon. It was a pleasant evening and we had build up a good appetite since it was a very hectic day. The spread wasn’t that great, we liked a couple of salads and one of the main dishes. The desserts were disastrous, the only saving grace was the ice cream. The staff were really attentive and friendly. The restaurant was literally filled with the crew of some airline. Though we didn’t go to the bar, checkout what Dream has to offer by clicking here. Next time we would surely checkout their Thai Restaurant. But yeah, if you are in Kochi; Dream is definitely worth a visit.

Even when Apple fans are going ga-ga over the iPad, in comes another player to the potential tablet market. It’s Notion Ink Adam Tablet. The brains behind this tablet are from Hyderabad, India and that makes me even prouder. The neck to neck comparison with ipad is given below. Now if this tablet delivers all the promises, then it’s surely going to give apple a run for its money. I wish it turns out into an iPad Killer. You can catch their progress here.

Every time A.R.Rahman announces an album there is a huge anticipation for its release. When it comes to Raavan, the anticipation is even more since Rahman is teaming up with Mani Ratnam. Every one has a feeling that Rahman reserves all his best scores for Mani Ratnam, who can be called as Rahman’s mentor. I got this album and i have mixed feelings. Normally all of Rahman’s albums are supposed to be like slow poison, it works slowly and catches you. But this album is yet to catch me even after the usual repeated hearings. Probably it’s too much expectation, or maybe because I am hearing something which I have heard before. The album has 6 songs:
01. Beera
02. Behene De
03. Thok Di Killi
04. Ranjha Ranjha
05. Khili Re
06. Kata Kata
The album has shades of other Rahman soundtracks, the background score for the song Ranjha Ranjha has a strong resemblance to Mayya Mayya from Guru. "Khili Re" is a great melody and it’s my personal favourite. Once the film releases, it will definitely find a place on the top charts but I still would rate this album as average.
