A Letter to Santa

 

Dear Santa,

I have been a gentleman all of 2009. I have tried to do a good balancing act, be it work or family. I am sure you have been noting it too..I see that you are busy finalizing your lists, and I am hoping that I am at least in the top 10. As a small help from me for your delivery, i will leave the balcony window ajar, so that you can come in without any hassles.

I am just wondering whether to put the big sock, near the christmas tree so that you could fill it with the presents.  I don’t have any wish list, i promise i will be content with what ever you present. If you are still coming this side on a reindeer, i suggest you take some other mode of transport which is faster, time is running out. One final request, don’t forget to bring something for wify too.

Networking Hub

 

Today, i had to get some networking stuff for work and i wasn’t able to get the  items from my usual place. So i was browsing and found out this place. This is a networking haven. You could find all sorts of network cables, connectors, clips, ties, testers, cabinets, power extensions and what not. The prices are reasonable as well. These guys undertake complete networking projects too.  So if you need anything connected with networking, you can have a look here, they are located in Mubarak Al Kabeer Street,opposite to the commercial center and next to the ITS building. Dr. Prannoy L Roy

Dr. Prannoy L Roy , born on October 15, 1949, is an Indian media figure. His father is a Bengali and his mother is Irish/English. He is the founder and the Executive Chairperson of New Delhi Television (NDTV). He is one of the pioneers of Indian television journalism.

Prannoy Roy spent first few years of his life at Kolkata & studied in La Martiniere Calcutta. Roy attended The Doon School, Dehradun and went to Haileybury (UK) for his A-levels. He graduated in Economics from the University of London’s Queen Mary College in 1973. He received his Ph.D. (in agricultural economics) from the Delhi School of Economics, where he taught for a year.

He worked as a Chartered Accountant for some time and later worked with Price Waterhouse, India – later he worked as Economic Advisor, Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India – before moving to television.

Roy is a Director on the Board of NDTV Media Limited, NDTV News Limited , NDTV Imagine Limited, NDTV Lifestyle Limited, NDTV Convergence Limited, NDTV Labs Limited, NDTV Investments Private Limited, RRPR Holding Private Limited, Metronation Chennai Television Private Limited, Alliance Lumiere Limited and NGEN Media Services Private Limited. Dr. Prannoy Roy is a Member of the Shareholder’s Investors Grievance Committee of the Board of Directors of the Company.

Roy is much known as a specialist in election analysis with Vinod Dua. The Roy-Dua team has covered every election since 1984 in the world’s largest democracy. Roy is considered as a liberal & supporter of market economy in the media.His political beliefs are close to that of the Congress party. During an interview with Dr Alexander Mathai of the State Minorities Commission of Maharashtra, Roy questioned Mathai as to whether he was in the 21st century due to his belief in the Bible’s condemnation of homosexuality as a sin. Roy further questioned Christianity’s tolerance in the same interview.

Sony VAIO-X Series

Last day, i got a chance to work on this feather lite beauty from Sony. This is the world’s lightest laptop available currently, it weighs a little under 800grams. It sure costs a bomb, but its fancy and adds a lot of snob value. I have some  reservations on  the screen size, its too difficult to make out things, especially for the oldies.  It comes with a solid state drive.

Though these laptops looks fancy am not a big fan of these. It’s definitely not a matter of SOUR GRAPES.

Jim Reeves

A Christmas is never complete without carols and when it comes to carols, my personal favourite is Jim Reeves-Twelve Songs of Christmas.  His voice gives a nostalgic feeling and when ever i listen to this album, reminds me of the old Christmas days, just like the ones i used to know……. There are some true classic christmas songs, my favourites being “Last Christmas” by George Micheal and “Christmas Album” by Boney M.
